Canadian Tax Manager
About the role
Our client, a prominent accounting and advisory firm, requires an experienced Canadian Tax Manager to join their Calgary team. This role involves serving diverse private clients, including businesses, trusts, and cross-border entities within a collaborative environment.
You will handle complex tax compliance (T1/T2/T3/T5013 returns, elections, and regulatory filings), prepare and review tax-centric compilation engagements, identify client opportunities, and develop innovative tax planning strategies. Responsibilities include conducting in-depth tax research, drafting technical memos, presenting emerging tax topics, liaising with tax authorities and legal teams, and mentoring junior staff through tax seasons. The position also involves cross-border collaboration and managing client deliverables efficiently.
The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation with 5+ years of Canadian tax experience and is near/completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or a Master's in Taxation. You possess expertise in complex returns, strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities, and a collaborative spirit to foster team growth. Excellent communication skills are essential for client advocacy and knowledge sharing.
