During this time, you will actively interact with clients to understand and resolve their specific application issues, implement workarounds, and fix bugs directly in the database. The other 50% of your time will be spent on code bug fixes and developing smaller new features. This role does require providing support over weekends if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct application support to clients, diagnosing and resolving issues, including implementing database fixes and workarounds.
  • Develop well-tested and integrated software that meets high development standards.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, offering recommendations and ideas for design projects.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and architects to estimate, plan, test, integrate, and deliver complex, scalable software solutions.
  • Create design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance of applications and support processes.
  • Communicate effectively with key partners and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues, and infrastructure integration.
  • Ensure work is delivered on schedule and keep internal customers informed of project progress.
  • Explore and recommend current trends, techniques, and technologies that could positively impact your work and the support process.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • 3 years' (+/-) experience with the Microsoft .NET technology stack, including .Net Framework, Web Forms, and .Net Core.
  • Experience demonstrating a combination of skills, including: C#, SQL, MongoDB, Entity Framework, MVC Patterns, Angular 7+.
  • Experience building SPAs, specifically with Blazor, would be a strong asset.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of OOO Development Methodologies.
  • Database experience with a structured query language (T-SQL required).
  • Exposure to version control software (GitHub preferred).
  • Comfortable with front-end frameworks and layout (Bootstrap preferred).
  • Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members and clients.
  • Able to explain, build consensus among peers, and effectively bring others along when establishing new design patterns in any part of the system.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent teamwork and team-building skills.
  • Superior time management, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet set timelines with minimal supervision.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts, especially in a support context.

Our Stack

We build our software on the Microsoft stack. Our web-based platforms utilize modern JavaScript frameworks such as Blazor and Angular (mostly) over a Microsoft .NET Core MVC application base. We implement RESTful WebAPIs to interact with our relational database systems (such as SQL Server) using the Entity Framework. Additionally, our custom-built APIs also reach into our CMS and caching middleware. Other technologies we work with include SOLR, Redis, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Couchbase, Docker, Cloudinary, GraphQL, Ingenico, AJAX, HTML5, and Bootstrap. We use the VS 2022 IDE, VS Code, or Rider for development. We are currently upgrading and migrating to a microservices architecture and the latest automated build tools, and this role will offer people we hire the opportunity to be involved in evaluating our options and defining the optimal approach to implementation.
