General Maintenance

Job Summary: The General Maintenance position will be responsible for all facility and yard maintenance activities. This role supports multiple locations within a 5km radius of head office in Niagara Falls

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Perform general/preventative maintenance duties including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.

· Perform minor repairs on lights, doors, locks, washroom fixtures, ceiling tiles, sidewalks, and other areas/equipment as required/requested.

· Perform Preventive Maintenance activities as assigned on all equipment and machines throughout the plant and yards in conjunction with daily production requirements

· Repair breakdown of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure

· Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

· Facilitate contractors as required

· Ice and snow removal, cleared pathways and driveways (salt when necessary)

· Maintain grass cutting, trimming and pest control

· Maintain a safe work environment

· Properly place items for storage and access

· Will be required to operate a forklift from time to time

· Fleet Maintenance (Daily or as needed):

o Respond to and schedule requests for service appointments, across all locations

o Obtain quotes for bigger items like tires, windshield repairs/replacements

o Take local vehicles to the appropriate shop for necessary repairs

o Take corporate Tesla to Oakville dealer for most repairs

o Winter or Summer tire swaps, Niagara Battery or White's

o Update fleet tracker excel sheet (Quarterly)

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Forklift operators certificate an asset

· Prior experience in plumbing, construction, basic electrical, painting etc. is required

· Mechanical/small equipment repair experience required

· May be specialized in an area of general maintenance.

· Knowledge of hand and power tools is required

· Possess a valid driver’s license

· High school diploma

Key competencies:

· Ability to operate loader, forklift, and bobcat

· Multitask and establish priorities

· Strong attention to detail, speed, accuracy and follow through\Able to work well under pressure

· Ability to work independently

Work Conditions

· Fast-paced environment

· Manual dexterity

· Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs

· Extended periods of standing

· Must have clean class G driver's license to travel to work sites (approximately 5km)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
