We currently have an opening for an Accounting Supervisor on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Progressive leader supervising and developing finance team
- Preparation and analysis of timely actual financial statements, assisting with plan and forecasts
- Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly comparative financial information to management for planning and to foster continuous improvement
- Capital project administration and capital asset reconciliation
- Supervise cost accountant with handling of ERP issues, working with IT and consultants as required
- Review and approval of journal entries and monthly reports created by staff
- Analysis/follow-up of purchase price variances
- Work closely with head office on financial reporting/audit requirements
- Oversee audit working paper preparation
Credentials and Characteristics:
- CPA Designation
- Post-Secondary education in Business, Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- Minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory role in the same or related field
- Advances to expert in Microsoft Excel skills
- Dynamics 365 Business Central experience considered an asset
- Manufacturing experience considered a strong asset
- Team-oriented
