Lead Architect - SAP
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds C02
Employment type: Permanent Region: Various
Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid
Annual salary: $ 155,000.00 - 196,000.00
Position Highlights
We are making significant investments in our ERP technology to expand our SAP footprint. We are looking for a seasoned
SAP Lead Architect to help us modernizing systems, digitizing processes, improving user experience and ultimately building
a stronger foundation for the future. The SAP Lead Architect will lead the overall design and business functionality of BC
Hydro’s SAP portfolio by working closely with key stakeholders to drive our program road map and implementation.
They are trusted partners to the business, able to influence and achieve the convergence of key business objectives and
technology capabilities. They are seasoned enterprise portfolio experts and work closely with Senior Product Owners in
respective SAP modules, to understand the existing and emerging product landscape and how to create business benefits
for BC Hydro.
What you'll do
As part of a focused team dedicated to ensuring a high level of end user support, system maintenance as well as driving
enhancements and innovation, the Lead Architect - SAP will:
- Make solution decisions from identifying investments, solution design on the existing system to driving solution design and
implementation of the brand new systems within ERP Core and closely related applications.

Provides expert advice in all aspects of planning large, corporate wide ERP investments.

Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint
planning, and prioritization of the product backlog, and delivery oversight.

Set the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for SAP as a product.

Set the strategic direction and creating and sustaining a culture of product ownership in a dev ops environment.

Ensure that release plans, solution documentations are in place across the SAP landscape.

Commit to a continual research and evaluation of market developments in innovation, new technology and trends in the
industry.

Build and maintain a strong relationship with other product owners or program managers across the enterprise.
-
Responsible for SAP as a product in setting the strategic direction and creating and sustaining a culture of product
ownership in a dev ops environment.
-
Deliver major corporate initiatives impacting multiple business stakeholders and cross functional technical teams.
-
Own the SAP product roadmaps and prioritize building what matters most to achieve the strategic goals and initiatives
behind the product.
What you bring
-
Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related fields.
-
12+ years of hands-on SAP experience in one or more SAP modules.
-
Extensive experience and track record in the following areas:
-
End-to-end SAP Program implementations. S4 implementation is considered an asset.
-
Drafting roadmaps and presenting to the business stakeholders.
-
CX level conversations.
-
Experience working in utilities industry is an asset.
-
Demonstrated leadership supporting change, team effectiveness and inspiring others to work collaboratively.
-
In-depth understanding of:
-
SAP architecture and modules integration.
-
SAP SDLC and DEV/OPS methodologies.
-
Exposure and understanding of different cloud solutions (Ariba, Concur etc.) that connect to SAP.
-
Ability to deal with varied perspectives and the complexity of a large corporation.
-
Strategic mindset that can understand the bigger picture and connect the dots. Demonstrates sound judgement in
recommendations and decisions.
-
Ability to build long lasting relationships with different stakeholders internally and externally.
-
Ability to work effectively with Systems Integrators and other partners to understand opportunities and constraints, to bring
optimal value to stakeholders.
- Ability to promote a culture of continuous improvements and innovations.
