As a Service Technician:
You will perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. This position will be given direction or guidance from the Nanaimo Branch Manager.
The ideal candidate will have
- 3+ years of experience performing service repairs
- Licensed Technician preferred
- Previous John Deere experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy duty and turf equipment
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with reasonable abstract is required
- Forklift license preferred
The hourly wage for this role is typically $38.25 to $57.50 per hour and represents a range across all of PrairieCoast’s BC and Alberta locations. It is influenced by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant training, and work location.
In compliance with the BC provincial government mandates, we are posting a broad wage range to adhere to the wage transparency requirements.

Pay: $38.25-$57.50 per hour
