The Community Living Service Delivery Branch is seeking a highly motivated, task-oriented, creative and flexible individual to fill the position of Community Intervention Worker for the North Service Area in North Battleford.
As part of the Community Services Unit, you will be responsible for case management and coordination; behavioral assessments; development, implementation and evaluation of behavioral programming; as well as providing consultation, education and training to government, community-based organizations, service providers and families. You will have the ability to provide proactive solutions to address complex and challenging behaviours to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. You will be required to reconcile divergent views and interests and work towards mutually-acceptable solutions with a strong ethical and client-centered approach.
Typically, our candidate of choice will have the knowledge and skills gained and demonstrated through a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education psychology, nursing or a related degree in the human services. Several years of post-academic experience in the development and/or delivery of therapeutic, educative, rehabilitative, behavioural or clinical services, as well as experience working in a therapeutic capacity with people with intellectual disabilities would be considered an asset. This position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.
Travel is a requirement of the position, including overnight stays. A valid driver's license is required as travel will be necessary.
