About the role
We are seeking a Lead Advocacy Professional (Vancouver, daily in-person).
Our employer is a dynamic, mission-driven organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community on campus. Focused on student advocacy, engagement, and support, it provides a welcoming space for students to explore their identity while navigating university life. The team creates meaningful connections, combats antisemitism, collaborates with administration, and launches impactful initiatives, all while prioritizing mental health and well-being. Affiliated with a larger international network, the organization empowers students to make lasting contributions to Jewish life and beyond. Employees thrive in a passionate, innovative, and supportive environment where their work has purpose and impact.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in conversations about student experiences on campus and help brainstorm ways we can offer meaningful support, both practically and emotionally.
- Help coordinate events, workshops, or informal gatherings that give students space to reflect, learn, and feel connected to one another and their broader community.
- Support efforts to understand and thoughtfully respond to challenges students may face in different campus environments, including experiences of exclusion or unfair treatment.
- Help gather feedback, stories, or updates from students and staff to stay informed about campus life and better understand where support is needed.
- Join meetings with campus or community contacts — sometimes to observe and learn, and other times to contribute ideas or raise thoughtful questions.
- Contribute to communications efforts — from drafting short updates to curating useful resources or helping share the work we’re doing with others.
- Support students as they build confidence in advocating for themselves and navigating campus systems, policies, and procedures.
- Learn and grow with the team— participating in ongoing training and development related to student support, campus engagement, identity, and inclusion.
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- 3+ years’ professional work experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Politically engaged and highly informed - you stay ahead of campus dynamics, student union developments, and local issues affecting Jewish students
- Proactive mindset - you anticipate challenges, keep your team in the loop, and step in early to support students where they need it most
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills - able to build meaningful relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and campus partners
- Trusted presence in tough moments - you bring clarity, compassion, and purpose, whether guiding a student or representing the community
- Skilled facilitator - experienced in leading effective trainings that empower students and staff
- Collaborative by nature - you work closely with the Director of Student Advocacy to shape strategy and messaging
- Independent and self-driven - you bring your own voice, ideas, and initiative to the team
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary range: $60-80k.
- A comprehensive health insurance package, including an additional $500 wellness package
- Vacation: 10 days + Jewish Holidays, plus 2 weeks paid winter break.
- Summer hours: 10 AM–3 PM (full pay).
- Monthly Bus pass or on-campus parking covered
- Great professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities
- Paid Vacations and Supportive Environment
- Relocation support: TBD
