Associate Producer
Picture Shop - Toronto
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with Producers on assigned projects to provide finishing support and ensure projects are completed in a manner that meets client expectations
- Fill in as primary coverage for projects when finishing Producer is not available
- Serve as second contact at Picture Shop for studio and show clients, and at times the primary contact.
- Participate in all project planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze client finishing calendars and schedule sessions in line with provided information
- Receive material from client (i.e., show footage and elements, VFX, offline turnovers) and ensure it is ready in time for scheduled sessions. Work with clients on redeliveries if material is not in proper order
- Assist Producers in troubleshooting day to day issues as they arise and participate in creating solutions that observe best practices for delivering content to client studios and networks
- Provide clients and Producers with regular status updates on work in the facility
- Create work orders in Xytech and distribute to finishing staff; follow up at session wrap to gather billing information for Billing department
- Perform quality control on masters and deliverables and coordinate delivery to end users
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and be organized, efficient and accurate under pressure
- Additional responsibilities as required for specific projects or designated by Producers
Required Skills:
- Prior work experience in a post-production facility and/or entertainment company is required
- Must be familiar with Post Production workflow including online editing, color correction, graphics creation, paint work/compositing
- Excellent communication skills and must be organized, efficient, and accurate under pressure.
- Must be flexible to meet ever-changing needs of clients and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while displaying a high level of professionalism
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with industry standard scheduling programs preferred (Xytech, ScheduAll, etc.)
- Prior experience in quality control checks for broadcast standards (video and audio levels, title safe, time code, etc.) is a plus.
Education:
- High School education or equivalent required.
- BA/BS in applicable field preferred.
