Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education, or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
- Successful Completion of Medical Device Reprocessing MDR Techniques Course
- MDRAO Certification
Required Skills:

Previous hospital experience preferred
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in decontamination, sterilization and setting up and maintaining trays preferred
-
Good working knowledge of medical supplies and sterilization equipment required including biological and chemical sterilization indicators
-
Demonstrated knowledge of categories of surgical instrumentation
-
Demonstrated knowledge of procedures to reduce the potential for nosocomial infections
-
Demonstrated knowledge of care and handling of scopes
-
Demonstrated knowledge of steam and sterilization procedures
-
Demonstrated knowledge of procedures and precautions necessary for surgical instruments
-
Ability to operate machinery, i.e., sterilizers
-
Ability to organize and prioritize, and deal with changing priorities
-
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills
-
Initiative and good judgment

Personal Computer skills an asset

To record results in a legible and neat manner
