Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices.
- Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to restaurant recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food preparation and handling.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food handling practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety standards within the food industry is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
