We are seeking a meticulously organized Diagnostic Imaging Clerk to join our team.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and the Supervisor of Diagnostic Imaging Clerks, the incumbent is responsible for providing reception and clerical support services within the department. This position is responsible for greeting and registering patients, booking test/procedures, answering phones and inquires, retrieving and distributing files, distributing and/or filling reports and other general clerical duties as required. The clerk answers a multi-line phone system, providing information and assistance, ensuring the efficient operation of the registration area. They pull and prepare patient requisitions providing information regarding modality questions around preps and other helpful details, ensuring that all requisitions are accurate and present for all patient appointments. Main duties will be to register patients at our main registration desk, answer phones and book general X-ray, BMD, Gastric studies.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Medical Office/Health Care Office Administration Certificate from an accredited post-secondary educational institution

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Diagnostic Imaging Department with a strong background/knowledge of general X-ray, gastric and BMD
-
Demonstrated effective communication skills including but not limited to: professional conversations, telephone etiquette, compassionate listening and utilizing critical thinking skills
-
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing effective organizational skills in a high volume, fast-paced, ever-changing environment
-
Knowledge of medical terminology
-
Excellent performance record in alignment with STEGH’s Mission, Vision and Values

Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Crucial Conversations Training

Working knowledge of other Diagnostic Imaging modalities

Experience with the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) Cerner and ICMS Scheduling
HOURS:
Must be able to meet the availability and non-availability requirements as outlined in the OPSEU Office & Clerical Collective Agreement.
