About the role
Main purpose of the role:
Manage and direct all aspects of Marine Operations, Terminal activities, Equipment control/logistics within Halifax and Atlantic parts of Canada. The objective is to achieve maximum service levels while maintaining operational expense levels in accordance with the company objectives.
Major areas of responsibility:

Monitor vessel schedules, coordinate all aspects of husbandry for Zim vessels

Place labour orders with stevedores to ensure timely departures
-
Board vessels as needed
-
Quote and Approve OOG shipments
-
Responsible to provide acceptance of all Hazardous cargo and apply for permits as required.

Assist with problem solving at terminal
Requirements:
Experience:
Required 3- 5 years' experience in stevedoring/marine industry; experience with management and customer relations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of vessel stevedoring operations; including vessel operations
-
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization

Strong organizational, strategic planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
-
Flexible to changing priorities.

Strong leadership skills.
-
Strong planning skills.
-
Ability to work effectively independently and/or within a team environment.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
