We’re growing and looking for a Well Log Specialist to join our team. In this role you’ll be responsible for digitizing well log rasters, prepping wells for digitizing outsourcing, and reviewing and editing existing LAS files. As required, you’ll respond to client orders and make any necessary data corrections to ensure data integrity and consistency. In this entry level role, we’ll get you up to speed with all training provided.

The Well Log Specialist reports to the Data Operations Supervisor.

How will you spend your day?

  • Creating LAS files from well log rasters, using a software called Neuralog.
  • Prepping digitizing projects by compiling the required rasters and documentation.
  • Data entry of Well Header data when required.
  • Correcting and editing the content and format of existing LAS files.
  • Loading LAS files to the appropriate database.
  • Prioritizing work to ensure we’re responding quickly to client orders, while contributing to ongoing infill projects during any downtime to ensure the continued growth of the database.
  • Joining regular team check-ins to share ideas with your team.
  • Jumping into other ad hoc projects when needed.

Ready to Apply? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Familiarity with geology, LAS files and well logs.
  • Knowledge of the following will be considered an asset:
    • Neuralog or other digitizing applications
    • Desktop, file, and computer management and best practices
    • Oil and Gas Industry experience
