Health Care Assistant (Registered Care Aide)

Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, meal preparation
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team
- Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely
- Supporting patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements
- Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanour
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting (minimum 1 year)
- Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
- A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
