This is a temporary, part-time position with the potential to transition into a permanent role, depending on workload demands and alignment of skills. WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Your role will require you to have a keen eye on health and safety while leading field work. These responsibilities will be in your domain.

Leading and undertaking field work to support fisheries surveys, but may also undertake wildlife, aquatic, and marine based surveys by collecting high quality environmental data.

Managing your crew’s safety, productivity, and quality while working in rugged outdoor conditions, which may include severe hot or cold weather, remote locations, working at night, navigating through thick vegetation, and swiftwater environments.

Adhering to field data collection BMPs and SOPs.
-
Completing data management with adherence to Ecofish’s internal QA/QC processes.

Organizing complex field logistics, including safety planning, crew scheduling, and field work plan development and execution.
THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

A diploma or B.Sc. in Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, +3 years of field work experience.

OFA Level 1, swiftwater rescue, and electrofishing certificates are assets.

R.P. Bio, R.B. Tech, or ability to become registered with the College of Biology for either of these designations.

Valid driver’s licence.

Physically capable of working in remote locations, including in streams.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, and excellence are key attributes.

Effective and demonstrated communicator with strong inter-personal skills.

Reliable, well organized, motivated, and self- managed.

Quick learner, flexible, and team oriented.
