Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Your Impact

As a Senior Mining Engineer (Short-Range Planner) at our Red Chris operations, you'll play a critical leadership role in developing and delivering safe, efficient, and value-focused short-range mine plans. Your work directly supports surface production performance and contributes to the long-term success of one of Canada’s most exciting open-pit polymetallic mines.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Lead the Short-Range Planning and Drill& Blast Engineering functions.
  • Develop and deliver robust weekly and 3-month production plans.
  • Ensure alignment between short-range and quarterly mine plans.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production and technical teams.
  • Manage procedures, databases, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate across departments including Geology, Survey, Maintenance, and Mill.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement in open-pit operations.
  • Update existing Pit and Dump designs

Prerequisites for your success in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of short-range planning and drill& blast engineering experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in BC or eligibility within 6 months.
  • Proficiency in mine planning and scheduling software (MineSight preferred).
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in open-pit mining; polymetallic exposure and prior supervisory experience preferred.

Your work environment:
This role is based at our Red Chris mine site, located in the stunning Golden Triangle of British Columbia. It is a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) operation with a strong safety culture and collaborative team environment. You’ll work on a dayshift schedule as part of our Technical Services department.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$103,300 - $137,700/year, with an additional 15% short term incentive . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
