POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure resort linen needs are met by keeping adequate supplies of clean linen available for distribution throughout the Resort. The Laundry Attendant contributes to the success of the resort by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Arrives at work on time, and dressed properly in assigned uniform, meets dress and grooming standards, and smiles in place.
- Clock in/sign-in at appropriate areas and check shift schedule to determine assigned duties.
- Checks mailbox for additional information.
- Keeps all machines in operation, loading / unloading for efficiency.
- Checks laundry needs for day and replenishes chemicals as needed.
- Adheres to all safety standards and “SAFETY DATA SHEETS” while dispensing/using chemicals.
- Checks linen list for proposed needs for the day and acts on this information.
- Laundry tasks may include pressing, folding, spreading sheets, washing, light cleaning, and working with large industrial machinery pertinent to the Laundry Department.
- Adheres to all resort policies, housekeeping policies, Human Resources Policies as well as all that is outlined in the associate handbook.
- Completes daily checklist and records any deficiencies, reasons for incomplete tasks or mechanical difficulties in laundry logbook.
- Must be able to deal with problem solving situations and make judgment decisions.
- Must be able to deal with issues arising from guest complaints/concerns (internal and external) in a timely and professional manner using problem solving and de-escalating techniques.
- Ability to safely lift, pull, push, or carry possibly up to 50 pounds.
- Make sure all lot and found times are brought to the Housekeeping Department daily.
- Makes sure laundry workstations are swept and cleaned nightly.
- Able to work in all stations within the Laundry Department ensuring to rotate as required.
- Willing and able to fully train all new associates in all areas of the Laundry Department.
- Reports to Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Managers upon completion of shift.
- Some stress resulting from the need to manage within time constraints will occur on a somewhat regular basis.
- Other job-related duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Education.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Housekeeping /Janitorial skills courses would be an asset.
- Must have good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Some basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems, apply time management skills.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions and prioritize.
- First Aid level III is an asset.
- Being multilingual is an asset.
- Flexible to a changing schedule.

Our full service resort features 5 natural mineral hot spring fed pools - indoors and out. Healing Springs Spa offers a full menu of relaxing and rejuvenating massage, body care, facial and esthetic treatments. For dining and a cold refreshment - you have 4 choices: Miss Margarets for light meals and coffee (we feature Starbucks Coffee products) to take away. Breakfast or a casual meal - enjoy the view from the Lakeside Cafe. When the weather is favourable - enjoy your favourite cocktail on the patio at Islands Bar or sink into a comfortable chair inside with a hot special coffee. For dinner and dancing - The Copper Room is our signature restaurant - step onto the dance floor and take a turn to live entertainment 7 nights a week. From May to September - enjoy the great outdoors! The resort marina is host to four operators - fishing charters, lake tours, boat, canoe and kayak rentals and the amazing Harrison Waterpark! In fall, enjoy the misty outdoors and be sure to take in the migration of 1000's of bald eagles as they travel through the Harrison area. We look forward to welcoming you.
