Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Support Workers. As a Direct Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks as well as accessing their community and connecting with peers
- Be a role model and help guide problem solving and conflict resolution
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Follow support plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals and provide support at medical appointments
- Monitor, report, and document progress towards goals and any changes
- Assist in coordinating social gatherings and planned group activities
Skills:
- Experience in human services, specifically disability support is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration, positive behaviour support, and person centered care is an asset
- Knowledge of the local community is an asset
- Willing to learn and grow in skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Additional post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle is required.
- Valid Standard / Intermediate First Aid Certificate is required
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Availability for shift work.

Pay: From $17.86 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
