Located in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a role of Night Guest Service Agent (Full-Time).

Job Description

Reporting to the Night Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet, check-in, respond to requests and settle accounts while providing exceptional service
  • Provide guests with a superior first and last impression of the hotel
  • Maintain presence in the lobby as an ambassador of the property and brand, offering exceptional service to the guests
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service to our guests
  • Handle guest requests effectively and promptly
  • Take initiative to add a personalized experience and proudly promote the hotel facilities, looking for opportunities to enhance a guest’s stay
  • Generate reports and perform hotel and valet audits
  • Complete night audit tasks as assigned
  • Key Members of Crisis & Emergency Team
  • Promote a professional team environment
  • Ensure safety of guests and colleagues by following safety policies
  • Complies with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures and code of ethics
  • Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Guest Services Agent experience in a similar environment is preferred
  • Positive and pleasant attitude, enthusiastic, able to work alone, strong team player and detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
  • Computer literate with Word and Excel is preferable with ability to type 40 words per minute
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Hospitality Diploma is an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately
  • Prior experience with Opera Cloud is an asset
