About the role

Infrastructure Ontario (IO), an Ontario crown corporation, provides a wide range of services to support the Ontario government’s initiative to modernize and maximize the value of public infrastructure and realty. IO has been recognized domestically and internationally for the way it does business and the success it has had with its major projects, real estate services, infrastructure lending, commercial projects, and development mandate. IO delivers some of the most complex, ambitious commercial and land development solutions for the Province and continues to evolve and expand its capabilities to maximize its public impact and deliver on its vision of creating a connected, modern and competitive Ontario.

We are seeking a Procurement Advisor to support the evolution of Infrastructure Ontario’s (IO) procurement practices. This role is responsible for enhancing vendor performance programs, developing procurement training, and optimizing procurement systems and processes. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, ensuring IO’s procurement operations remain effective, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and improve IO’s vendor performance program, including the development of tools and systems for diverse contract types.
  • Analyze vendor performance data to identify trends and support strategic decision-making.
  • Curate and maintain a centralized procurement knowledge hub, including templates, guidelines, and annotated documentation.
  • Design and deliver procurement training to internal teams and external public sector partners.
  • Lead procurement data collection and reporting to support analytics, audits, and governance requirements.
  • Provide advice on procurement process optimization and the use of procurement tools and systems.
  • Support IO’s Procurement Quality Control Program (PQCP), Service Provider Procurement Audit Program (SPPAP), and Procurement Data Quality Assurance Program (PDQAP) by conducting reviews, verifying data, and ensuring compliance.
  • Provide technical support and training on IO’s bidding and evaluation platforms, and collaborate with vendors on system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external key partners to ensure procurement practices are aligned with organizational goals and public sector standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Professional learning in areas such as information systems, business administration, public administration, or business process optimization.

  • Knowledge and appreciation of procurement and contract administration practices.

  • Understanding of business analytics and process optimization.

  • A few years’ experience in:

    • Managing vendor performance programs and developing related systems.
    • Creating and delivering training and program materials.
    • Working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
    • Engaging with internal and external key partners to support procurement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
