Warehouse Operations Manager

As a growing business, SAXX needs people that can adapt and evolve to the needs of our business and analyze and respond to our business needs. The Warehouse Operations Manager will play an essential role in supporting our International and North American growth strategy. This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver and may require occasional business travel.
THE WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER WILL….
Manage 3PL warehouse operations, inventory management, product returns and last-mile delivery to customers ensuring our products are delivered in full and on time (DIFOT). This is a hands-on position which will require the application of strategic thinking and the execution of day-to-day operations.
We work in a fast-paced environment, rolling up our sleeves to build something bigger than ourselves. You must be comfortable working within a small and dynamic team, be able to communicate effectively, juggle multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, identify, and communicate risk, and deliver against deadlines. More importantly, you need to be able to integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka don’t take yourself too seriously.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead daily warehouse and cartage operations to meet customer expectations and company goals.
- Develop and implement scalable operational strategies to optimize costs, quality, safety, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve financial performance.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution.
- Implement and maintain compliance with internal standards, vendor manuals, and audit requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and rates, monitor KPIs and lead quarterly performance reviews.
- Resolve service level issues and ensure adherence to contracted performance standards.
- Maintain clear and accurate operational documentation and SOPs.
- Develop and report on performance metrics, cost analytics, and service effectiveness.
- Onboard new retail partners, establish and cost value-added services and develop standard operating procedures with 3PLs.
- Oversee the investigation and resolution of service issues and non-compliance chargeback penalties related to distribution by liaising with external and internal stakeholders.
- Provide accurate shipping projections and coordinate capacity planning for peak periods.
- Assist with preparation of analytical reports and historical re-caps to communicate business performance.
- Cultivate strong partnerships focused on innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented culture within the team.
- Other duties may arise from time to time and as a team, we look to support each other.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field OR experience in a similar position
- A minimum of 3 years team management experience OR 5 years of progressive experience in a supply chain, distribution or operations environment.
- Thorough understanding of 3PL warehousing and fulfillment operations and commercial relationships.
- Experience operating in retail and an omni channel (B2B and DTC) environment and working with large retail accounts an asset.
- Broad understanding of the Supply Chain end-to-end, including the tools and processes associated with Integrated Business Planning, Order Fulfillment, Sales & Operational Planning and interaction with Logistics providers (internal and 3rd party)
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; proactive nature and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success
- Strong financial acumen, analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Project management experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment; works well under pressure and results oriented
