About the role
We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Second Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at one of Vancouver’s premier private clubs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for quality food, teamwork, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
The Second Cook supports the First Cook and Chef de Partie with day-to-day kitchen operations. You’ll help prepare and cook a variety of dishes, assist with kitchen organization, and ensure high standards for food quality, presentation, and cleanliness are consistently met - all to delight our members and guests!
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items using proper techniques (grilling, sautéing, frying, etc.)

Ensure ingredients are prepped and ready for service (mise en place)

Follow portion control, plating standards, and food safety protocols
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
-
Support inventory rotation, receiving deliveries, and minimizing waste
-
Communicate effectively with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation
-
Adapt to changing needs in the kitchen and support where needed during busy service periods
QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of culinary experience in a professional/corporate kitchen
-
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen stations
-
Excellent organizational skills & ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards

Food safety and sanitation certification (or willingness to obtain)

Team player with excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Passion for cooking and continuous learning
WORK HOURS
-
Open availability including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.

Typical shifts will include working both Saturdays & Sundays. Weekday shifts may either be mornings, afternoons or evenings based on business needs
WAGE: $25.29 per hour + bonus eligibility

An ideally situated and mature course, Marine Drive has been the home of many champions including Stan Leonard, the Club's long-time honorary professional. At just over 6,300 yards from the blue tees, it is certainly known for its difficulty as opposed to its length, but at par 71, many players will tell you it plays longer than expected.
