Position Summary

Reporting to the DCC Events Supervisor, the Front of House Program Assistant will ensure quality customer services to clients or programs at the Shell Theatre and Dow Centennial Centre.

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide customer service at the Shell Theatre, Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery and Dow Centennial Centre.
  • Supervise events and ensure that clients and patrons follow all guidelines, rules and regulations associated with the events.
  • Provide leadership for the Shell Theatre Volunteers which includes support and assignment of volunteer duties.
  • Coordinate the start of the performances with technicians, box office and clients.
  • Monitor activities in the box office, beverage bar, restrooms, and theatre seating area.
  • When necessary, collect royalties from clients/cashier receptionist and secure in a safe place for the attention of the DCC Events Supervisor.
  • Willingness to provide support to the bar operations as required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma. A Pro-Serve (AGLC) certificate and the completion of the CPR/AED course are considered valuable assets. This position requires strong interpersonal and customer service skills with excellent communication and hosting abilities in theatre and event operations. Proficiency with web-based programs such as Better Impact and When2Work, as well as a basic understanding of SharePoint is an asset to the role. The incumbent will demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills and attributes. Basic word processing and spreadsheet data entry skills are beneficial.

This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work: Days, evenings and weekends. The number of hours of work per week may vary and cannot be forecasted.
