Youth Support Worker
We are seeking a caring and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in a part time role and help us deliver on our mission to provide the highest quality therapy to children and their families by providing the best-personalized support systems necessary. What You Will Do
The role of Youth Support Worker to support our children and youth in our care. In this role your responsibilities will include:
- Act as a role model to the children and youth in our care.
- Teach and assist individuals with activities such as hygiene, basic cooking, money management, shopping, safety skills, etc..
- Facilitate physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocational activities.
- Teach and assist youth with activities such as, hygiene, basic cooking skills, money management, shopping, safety skills, and social skills.
- Administering medication to our youth, when required and ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Building healthy rapport with the youth and youths’ families. As well as educational and medical professionals you may be in contact with.
- Accompany and/or transport individuals to activities and appointments as required.
- Fill out daily logs/paperwork and report to supervisors and team leads.
- Support clients in becoming self-sufficient and independent.
- Administer medication to individuals in line with our procedures and policies.
The Experience, Expertise and Education We Value
- Experience in Nursing, Social Services, Home care, Educational Assistant positions, Early Childhood Education, Support Worker, Personal care aid, Human services support.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR
- Mental Health First Aid
- NVCI/Mandt
- ASIST/ASK
- Valid driver's license/Driver's Abstract/Criminal Record Check/Social Development Check/1- million liability required.
- Fluency in English is required (oral/written)
- Ability to work with/around pets i.e., cats and dogs is required.
- Schedule flexibility - days, evenings, overnight, weekends

Beyond Behavioural Intervention serves families and communities in need by providing a plethora of services. Examples of said services include but are not limited to alternative housing options, peer mentoring, and parental aide services. Like its namesake, Beyond Behavioural Intervention aims to look beyond the behaviors in order to better understand the challenging areas that carry an impact on families and community members. This provides a non-judgemental, trauma-informed lens to simultaneously bridge the gap between service providers and receivers allowing us to maximize not only positive relationships but positive outcomes.
