Leads and manages project plans for medium to large and key initiatives. This includes managing intake of new projects, working with leadership to identify the project team, developing charters Statements of Work and timelines, and managing project scope, issues, changes, communications, and quality.
Provides assistance in accomplishing strategic goals and objectives. Carries out all agreed-upon department goals and objectives, and any other tasks deemed necessary to ensure the success of the department, assisting with the implementation of industry best practices and achieving the highest degree of project success in business development and implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as single point of contact for multiple project initiatives, creating project plans and providing regular status updates on the progress of projects. Maintains ongoing understanding of progress of all projects and raises awareness when variances from plan begin to emerge. Communicates regular project status ensuring on-time, on-budget and error-free delivery.
- Recommends areas of process improvement in project management methodologies that improve on-time and error-free delivery, and proposes training as needed.
- Builds and continually nurtures relationships with cross-functional associates at all levels across the organization in order to best support the needs of business units, as well as to understand any regional and/or cultural sensitivities, influences or market conditions.
- Reviews new projects and provides feedback, analysis and management reports to leadership and key project resources.
- Works with leaders and project sponsors to determine project acceptance criteria based on those determined by senior leadership as well as those that have been identified in plans as supporting business development objectives.
- Provides post-implementation follow-up, facilitates retrospectives or lessons learned activities, implements process improvements that aid in increasing efficiency, reducing rework, enhancing quality, etc.
- Takes a lead role in the execution of department projects and initiatives.
EDUCATION Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences/Technology (BA/BS) or equivalent related work experience
EXPERIENCE Required
- 5+ years experience in a project management position in Financial Services or Technology field
- Hands-on experience in managing multiple, complex IT (software) projects
- Proven process improvement experience
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products (JIRA, Confluence)
- MS Project experience
Preferred
- Reinsurance industry experience
Required SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Intermediate project management skills
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
- Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods and work under tight deadlines
- Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload
- Advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to translate business needs and problems in to technical solutions
- Ability to work independently and coordinate team activities; Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects
- Ability to conceptualize and design multiple ideas/solutions for projects
- Expert proofreading skills

Compensation Range $85,500.00 - $106,850.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
