Reporting to Central 1’s President and Chief Executive Officer (the “CEO”), the incoming Chief Financial Officer (the “CFO”) is a strategic business leader with a proven track record of proactive and responsible financial and operational management. An active partner to the CEO, Central 1’s Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, the CFO plays an integral role contributing to and delivering on Central 1’s strategic direction in a manner that strikes the right combination of financial efficiency, risk management and exceptional client experience. An inspirational leader, with the ability to open doors and build relationships with a multitude of key stakeholders, the incoming CFO understands Central 1’s business drivers and opportunities, is quick to assess changing landscapes, and develops creative and innovative solutions that reinforce and grow its market leadership. With the ability to translate long-term vision to day-to-day accountability, the CFO leads and develops Central 1’s Finance group, capable of delivering key financial and business insights and data through effective planning, reporting and forecasting that meaningfully contribute to Central 1’s business decisions and drive Central 1’s successful business and financial results.

With substantial knowledge of the financial services landscape, including understanding the importance of regulatory requirements, accountability to its clients and good governance, Central 1’s CFO effectively communicates a wide range of finance, risk and operational business matters to key internal and external stakeholders, including the CEO, Central 1’s Board of Directors and key regulators. By shining a light on what makes Central 1 unique through credible, data-supported and compelling value propositions, the CFO serves as a persuasive advocate who ensures Central 1 is the leader in empowering credit unions, fin-techs and other financial institutions who deliver banking choice to Canadians. With a high level of integrity and proven experience excelling through transformation, Central 1’s incoming CFO builds credibility and partnerships across the business and is astute at asking the right questions that drive effective decision-making in the best interests of Central 1.

A business-savvy and client-centric leader, the incoming CFO will have 10-15+ years of leadership experience as a Chief Financial Officer and/or senior financial executive in the financial services industry, along with strong strategic planning, operational/FP&A, financial control and reporting, advanced analytics and predictive modelling, financial data integration, as well as treasury expertise and a CPA designation. Experience with regulators, exposure to credit unions, knowledge about and experience within payments and treasury as well as an MBA or master’s degree in a financial discipline are all valuable assets. With outstanding business and financial acumen and the ability to assess and balance organizational risks and opportunities, the incoming Central 1 CFO will oversee Central 1’s overall fiscal effectiveness while collaboratively contributing to a highly capable Executive Leadership Team.
