About the role
The City of West Kelowna is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, independent person to teach skating lessons for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
Our ideal candidate:
· Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate an asset
· Skating lesson instructor experience an asset but not required
· Strong skating ability and understanding of skating techniques
· Experience working or volunteering with children
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the general public
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Create lesson plans and instruct weekly skating lessons for children
· Assess skating ability and modify activities accordingly
· Ensure the safety and enjoyment of children during skating sessions
· Greeting attendants and maintaining accurate attendance
· Administer adequate first aid when needed
· Prepare, maintain, and store equipment, ensuring it is clean and ready for use
