About Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corp

AEM is a leading global provider of specialty aviation solutions. We design, develop and manufacture aircraft communication systems, loudspeaker systems, caution/warning panels, structural health monitoring sensors and illuminated panel products for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. We are the first FAA-certified at-the-gate airframe crack detection sensor solution for commercial airline operators. AEM is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMS Canada Corp, under our parent company: Structural Monitoring Systems plc (ASX: SMN). From our sunny corporate office in Kelowna, BC, we offer our products to a global marketplace.

Our five-year plan includes year over year sales growth, research & development investments and other progressive initiatives. We are expanding our finance team to enhance our ability to deliver timely and accurate financial statements and reports that inform sound decision making. We play a crucial role in the growth of the company, and we are searching for a permanent full-time talented Senior Financial Accountant & Analyst who will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

About the Role

  • Collaborates closely as a member of the finance team (CFO, Controller, Payroll and Accounts Payable);
  • Supports the completion of monthly reconciliation and financial statements;
  • Creates clear and concise reports highlighting key financial performance metrics and variance. Contributes to financial reporting packages to the AEM executive team and SMS Board of Directors.
  • Analyzes financial data (balance sheets, income & cash flow statements) and identifies trends and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of accurate financial records, ensures compliance and participates in financial audits.
  • Communicates financial information to internal managers.
  • Builds sophisticated models to predict future financial performance & supports budgeting and planning processes.
  • Performs back-up/relief processing salaried Canadian payroll as required.

About the Candidate

  • Minimum five years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong cost accounting background.
  • CPA designation is required;
  • Team player and passion for learning in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Solid problem-solving skills;
  • Highly capable accounting knowledge and skills with strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience with Syspro and working with a publicly traded company is an asset.
  • Passion for learning and collaborating.
