HDR is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with our growing team as a Marketing Specialist, in a temporary position. Our environment is supportive, offers skill enhancement training, and cultivates career growth. As a member of this engaging and exciting team, the pace will often be fast and deadline driven. The individual must be able to initiate and take action when required, and able to respond to changes with both deadlines and goals. For successful performance, the person should adapt readily to, and be comfortable with change, both in terms of job activities and the work environment. Furthermore, this person should be comfortable with variety in assignments and be able to cope with a number of priorities at any point in time.

Solid organizational and communication skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, able to troubleshoot problems and find solutions, and follows direction. Taking Initiative, being very organized, and quick at the keyboard will make this position a success.

Reporting to and working closely with the Marketing Services Manager, the Marketing Specialist will have responsibility for and coordination of the day-to-day marketing activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating development, organization, and production of proposals. Evaluating RFP requirements/evaluation criteria for compliance, preparing qualification materials specific to solicitations and writing/editing proposal sections.

  • Developing and managing the marketing schedule for some proposals, and other time-sensitive deliverables.

  • Coordinating marketing meetings and conference calls.

  • Tracking opportunities.

  • Maintaining client databases.

  • Maintaining marketing databases and associated material to support client and opportunity development for the marketing program.

  • Developing and updating our marketing library of materials including: resumes, project descriptions, presentations and other collateral materials.

  • Coordinating other marketing activities including conferences, events, industry participation, and strategic planning

  • Assist with marketing related ads, materials and sponsorship as needed

  • Contact sub consultants and coordinate materials and fees

  • Assist with the initial set up of project schedules and budgets

  • Complete quality documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Marketing, Business Administration, Psychology, Journalism, English or related degree

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in proposals (preferable in an engineering consulting environment)

  • Expert MS Office skills and InDesign

  • Superior writing and editing skills in the English language

  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at one time

  • Comfort in communicating with and working with individuals at all levels of an organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Very detail-oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Experience working towards firm deadlines

  • · Results-oriented with an extremely high work ethic, stringent quality standards, and can-do attitude
