About the Job

Do you want your work to have a real impact on the environment? We're seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join our composting operations team in Arthur, ON. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate a range of heavy equipment that directly supports sustainable waste processing and organic material recycling. From bulldozers to portable grinders, your work will play a vital part in creating eco-friendly outcomes every day.

This is a full time position on the day shift (Monday-Thursday, 5 am- 3:30 pm), reporting to the Compost Shift Supervisor. The starting rate is $25.49/hour.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate heavy machinery such as wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and portable grinders.
  • Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety
  • Shovel and cleanup around equipment following operating procedures.
  • Carry out minor maintenance tasks (greasing, cleaning components).
  • Assist in composting system operations using Gore Covers and manage water distribution for dust control.
  • Maintain cleanliness around equipment and address minor repairs to equipment and composting materials.
  • Safely and efficiently, operate water truck supplying water to storage tanks and surface dust control.

Here’s What You Need

  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment in agriculture, construction, or landscaping.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments..
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Commitment to ensuring safe working conditions and environmental compliance.
