Culinary World Tour Teacher & DEIJ Coordinator (Grades 10–12)

Location: Queen Margaret’s School – Duncan, BC

Type: Temporary – Letter of Permission (Annual Reappointment Required)

Are you passionate about global cuisine, cultural storytelling, and creating a more inclusive world through education? Queen Margaret’s School is seeking a uniquely qualified educator to lead our Grade 10–12 Culinary World Tour elective while serving as the school’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) Coordinator.

This is more than a teaching position - it’s a chance to blend hands-on culinary instruction with meaningful cultural and equity leadership. We’re looking for someone with culinary credentials, lived international experience, multilingual ability, and a deep commitment to building community through food and justice-oriented education.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach a globally focused culinary course that explores food traditions through language, history, and culture.

  • Supervise student cooking labs while maintaining safety and food handling standards.

  • Lead school-wide DEIJ efforts, from cultural events to student affinity spaces.

  • Offer training and support to staff on inclusive teaching practices.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have Food Safe Levels 1 & 2 and a Level 1 Cook certification.

  • Have at least 5 years of DEIJ-related experience.

  • Are fluent in multiple languages (an asset in our boarding school context).

  • Are a passionate educator who thrives working across departments and identities.

Note: A BC teaching certificate is not required as applicants will be considered under a Letter of Permission.
