About the role
Position Overview Calian is seeking an Instructional Designer to help support the design, development and delivery of Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering. This is a full-time opportunity where the resource will be required to work on site in Borden, ON.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and quality control of instructional materials for all training requirement
- Analyzing, designing, and evaluating RCAF (Royal Canadian Airforce) training program
- Developing of training material
- Conducting and advising on validation activities
- Advising on training documentation
- Assisting in the development of assessment plans and assessment instruments
- Assisting instructors in developing instructional skills
- Assisting in the implementation of mentoring programs
- Designing and conducting instructional techniques workshops
- Conducting needs analysis
- Monitoring and evaluating training
- Proposing, monitoring, and evaluating performance improvement interventions
- Instructing as required
- Advising on learning technologies
- Promoting relevant training and education system innovation
- Supervising instructional developers and personnel in instructional development
Qualifications Civilian-Trained Personnel
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in or specializing in Education or Distance Learning or Post-secondary degree and has completed a Teacher Education Program that is recognized by the applicable provincial standards organization (e.g. Ontario College of Teachers in Ontario)
- Two-year minimum full-time instruction in adult education-related employment
- Two years experience in design, development, and implementation of instructional programs or Five (5) years of instructional design in adult education-related employment
Canadian Forces Trained Personnel
- Qualified Training Development Officer (CF National Qualification code AGDA)
- Three years minimum experience in a CF training establishment
General Qualifications
- An Instructional Design Officer must have knowledge of:
Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education Systems and Individual Training and Education (IT&E) Management Framework or equivalent training system development framework, demonstrated through work experience in applying the training system development framework in a structured training environment
- Design and Distributed Learning, demonstrated through work experience in a training development environment and developed or coordinated the development of distance learning courses
- Ability to advise on curriculum and training development, demonstrated through work experience in a training development environment
Additional Requirements
- You must be able to work on site
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level
