Job Description
Store Operations & Performance:
- Lead and inspire day-to-day store operations, creating a seamless, customer-first experience while upholding operational excellence and compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and profitability goals.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Manage store budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Assist in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members (Opticians, Optometric Assistants, Sales Associates).
- Coach and mentor your team with regular, meaningful feedback that supports both personal and professional growth.
- In collaboration with the Clinical Operations Manager, conduct regular performance reviews and address any performance issues promptly and constructively.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment.
- Develop weekly staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Customer Experience & Sales:
- Champion a personalized, high-impact customer journey that builds lasting trust and loyalty.
- Oversee the entire customer experience from initial greeting to dispensing and after-care.
- Coach the team on personalized sales approaches, including identifying customer needs, recommending tailored solutions, and building confidence in the purchase decision.
- Handle complex customer inquiries, complaints, and escalated issues with professionalism and a resolution-oriented approach.
- Promote and educate customers on various lens technologies, frames, contact lenses, and eye health solutions.
Product & Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and organizing frames, lenses, contact lenses, and accessories.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliation to minimize shrinkage.
- Oversee visual merchandising and display strategies to enhance product appeal and drive sales.
- Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and technological advancements in optics.
Optical Dispensing & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all dispensing practices adhere to professional standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., College of Opticians of Ontario guidelines), and company protocols.
- Work closely with the Licenced Optician to deliver a high level of patient care
Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Bring energy and creativity to local marketing efforts, driving awareness, community engagement, and customer traffic.
- Build relationships within the local community to foster goodwill and potential partnerships.
- Ensure the store appearance is always clean, well-maintained, and appealing.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and provincial optical professional guidelines.
- Maintain strict adherence to privacy regulations regarding patient information (e.g., PHIPA in Ontario).
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven retail management experience, ideally in an optical or healthcare setting, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets. (2+ years in a similar role)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Optosys experience an asset
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by retail operations.
- Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and P&L management.

- Full Time availability during our operating clinic hours (Monday-Saturday)
