About the role
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, CIE Poultry Sales, the Key Account Manager oversees all aspects of Poultry export (this includes development and implementation of approved respective strategies and initiatives that cover all processing plants). The incumbent also provides a backup cover for raw/finished material procurement that supports processing plants in meeting their operational/quality requirements and profitability targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Recommends and implements approved export strategies and initiatives which support all processing plants in meeting their operational requirements (including quality) and profitability targets
- Manage Market Development Program’s (MDP) export commitments to ensure exports are handled within established parameters, in a timely manner and through proper documentation.
- Accountable for obtaining optimal export pricing (this is done through negotiations of best pricing deals with external customers). In collaboration with the Sales Manager and Plant Managers, control inventory levels associated with exports.
- Provides input into coordination of production schedules to improve product flow and quality for export. This includes confirmation of required export volumes (loads) to the DSI Manager who then communicates with the Plant Managers and other operational staff involved.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies, and source opportunities for new channels of business to improve margins.
- Research for new and alternative export markets, makes recommendations and initiates buyer/supplier qualification. Collaborate with Key Account Managers and Marketing in establishing export practices related to new key accounts
- Stays abreast of any new trends and opportunities in export and utilizes them in collaboration with Sales and any other involved internal/external parties
Requirements
- Business Degree or certificate in International Business or related field and 5-7 years of relevant meat industry experience, coupled with a strong knowledge of plant capacities and production processes.
- Strong knowledge of CSB system
- Strong communication and negotiations skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
