Scope
The City of Surrey has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plumber to perform skilled trade tasks involving physical effort and active performance in a variety of maintenance, alterations and minor construction jobs within City buildings and facilities.
Responsibilities
Installs and repairs hot water tanks, bathroom fixtures and fittings, sewage and pressure pumps, swimming pool equipment, sanitary lines, flow measuring and gas fitting.
Prepares estimates of costs, time, materials and equipment needed for plumbing projects.
Responds to inquiries from the public.
Cleans blocked drains and process piping by mechanical, manual and hydraulic means.
Inspects plumbing and steam fitting items for leakage and condition.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Successfully completed Grade 12 or GED.
Plumbing Trades Qualification (TQ) with a Gas Fitters ticket.
Previous experience and training as a qualified Trades Plumber.
Thorough knowledge of the BC Plumbing Code and knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment are required and excellent communications and team skills are a must.
Possess a valid B.C. Driver’s license with safe driving history.
Valid Backflow Testing Certification is preferred.
Experience with pool equipment is an asset.
The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a valid RCMP Security Clearance.

Hourly Rate: $43.30
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of an RCMP Reliability Security Clearance.
