The Position :
The Industrial Mechanic will support our nuclear division by assembling, installing, testing, and commissioning custom automated systems. This hands-on role demands a high level of mechanical skill, attention to safety, and comfort with physically demanding work. You will regularly perform heavy rigging operations and work at heights while handling large, complex mechanical assemblies. Working on high-precision nuclear tooling projects, you will play a key role in upholding Eclipse’s commitment to safety, quality, and innovation in the energy sector.
What You’ll Be Doing :
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, including hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Assemble, fit, align, and plumb mechanical systems with power transmission, conveyors, and sensing components
- Perform complex and heavy lifts (10–100 tons), including rigging planning and execution, using overhead cranes, chain falls, and lifting beams
- Work at heights using fall protection equipment, lifts, and scaffolding as needed
- Conduct troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on large structural assemblies
- Travel to customer sites for equipment installation and service support
- Follow Eclipse's Project Operating Policy and uphold the company’s health and safety standards
What We’re Looking For :
- Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright, Tool & Die Maker, or Iron Worker, or equivalent experience in the energy/heavy industrial sector
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Skilled in rigging, mechanical assembly, and reading technical drawings
- Comfortable with working at heights and in physically demanding environments
- Familiarity with Z299/N299 quality standards and/or Candu refurbishment projects is an asset
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and valid passport for travel
