Our Bus Fleet Maintenance & Engineering Office is seeking a Service Person II on a contract basis to service buses under the supervision of the Supervisor, Bus Fleet Service Line. This position is responsible for servicing, fueling, parking, and bus cleaning as it relates to the fuel and mop lines and performing change-offs as required.
Start Rate (Non - Negotiable) - $28.62 What will I be doing?
- Services the bus fleet by fueling, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and full detailing of buses.
- Driving and checking buses, circle check and document inspections.
- Performs interior, exterior and maintenance cleaning duties on the bus, and support fleet.
- Update and replace bus documents and electronic sign data.
- Completes on-the-road change-offs.
- Performs spills containment and clean up.
- Perform seat replacement.
- Complete inspection of vehicle fluids and top-up fluid when required.
- Perform wheel and tire inspection for damage and tread depth measurement.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Monitors on-site the facility and equipment and reports any unusual items to the Service Line Supervisors and takes corrective action as appropriately directed.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Basic knowledge of motor vehicle inspection of fluids, belts, pullies, and tires.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in servicing buses or heavy equipment, as well as, assisting with repairs in bus or heavy vehicle maintenance environment.
- Must successfully complete mandatory environmental, safety and all other training required by corporate policy including new courses that are or could be adjusted with these policies
- Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and must meet corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Class “C” driver’s licence and “Z” endorsement.
- Must be able to obtain GO Transit Forklift driving certificate.
- Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy. Ability to obtain job related certifications as required

Working Conditions
- Shift work including weekends, and statutory holidays with work often being performed on the afternoon and night shifts.
- Regular exposure to diesel exhaust fumes, oils, greases, cleaning solvents and other materials, frequent outside work in variable weather conditions.
- While cleaning in, may be exposed to food and human biological matter (appropriate PPE is provided)
- Work is performed inside and outside in variable weather conditions (all seasons).
- Requires ability to walk, stand and climb stairs while carrying equipment and tools weighing up to 45 kg in tight and sometimes restricted areas.
- Push a cart with supplies on it that could weight up to approximately 25 kg
- Use heavy (up to 200lbs) equipment such as steamers and extractors that require adherence to instructions and health and safety protocols
- Required to be fit for duty at all times to ensure a safe workplace
