Position Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of all events and programming various clienteles (internal and external). This includes the operational management of hackathons, student placements, entrepreneurial experience programs and events and accompanying resources management. Incumbent is responsible for responsible for research and development of innovative and creative methods to deliver programs to deliver programming in traditional and non-traditional methods at multiple locations on campus.
Typical Accountabilities
- Program Development and External Relations: Responsible for the development, implementation, and promotion of entrepreneurship programs and activities with a goal to help students build critical entrepreneurial skills and engage the startup and corporate communities. Develops an annual schedule of events and programs that provides and expands opportunities for students, staff and external clients in a full year approach. Responsible for the research and development of entrepreneurship programs in liaison with the Manager on operational and strategic direction, market research, budgeting and reporting.
- Operations: Manages the operations for existing and new programs, including scheduling, program registration both in-person and online and content delivery. Provides solutions to unanticipated, non-routine problems. Analyzes and maps office processes and implements initiatives for maintaining optimal office efficiency and best practices. Annually develops and revises internal policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and disciplinary procedures to guide staff in their actions.
- Human Resources: Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, on-going training, supervision, evaluation and remuneration of all student staff and volunteers. Provide mentoring, experiential learning and guidance in the areas of issue resolution and incident and risk management. Address student staff issues.
- Communications: Collaborate with the Officer of Marketing and Communications of the Entrepreneurship Hub to ensure quality promotion of programs. Develop program specific content and assist in maintaining entrepreneurship events and programs social media and web presence through strategy ideation and results tracking. Prepare reports, publications and other written work as required and in collaboration with a shared service model.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills

University Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; most relevant field include business administration, program management, entrepreneurship, etc.

Three years of supervision and operational experience in a program and events domain, preferably in an entrepreneurship or higher learning environment;
-
Three years of human resources management, financial resources, team management and conflict resolution experience;
-
Supervisory experience to effectively manage student staff and volunteers;
-
Experience in the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of programs and services for various diverse groups;
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a unique and bilingual cultural environment;
-
Developed sense of leadership, strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines;
-
Ability to work daytime, evenings and weekends as required based on operational schedules of the events and programs;

Well-developed written/oral/interpersonal communication skill

Experience with various business software including database management, financial software and various communication systems

Must be able to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing in French and English;
