ERP Project & Solutions Development Specialist

Job Summary:
The ERP Project & Solutions Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting and evolving ERP systems specific to the food industry. This position is responsible for managing ERP-related projects, customizing solutions for manufacturing, supply chain, food safety compliance, and traceability, while ensuring system stability and process efficiency. The specialist collaborates across departments—operations, QA, production, and finance—to align ERP capabilities with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP Project Leadership
- Manage ERP implementation, enhancement, and integration projects for food manufacturing and distribution processes.
- Define project timelines, deliverables, and key milestones; ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including production, QA, R&D, and supply chain.
- ERP Solution Development
- Customize ERP modules to meet the unique needs of the food industry, such as batch production, lot tracking, shelf-life monitoring, and recall readiness.
- Develop automation and reporting tools to support regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP, CFIA, FDA, SQF).
- Support recipe management, BOM (Bill of Materials), demand forecasting, and inventory optimization features.
- System Support & Integration
- Integrate ERP systems with warehouse management systems (WMS), SCADA, EDI, and food labelling software.
- Resolve system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintain data integrity, security, and documentation of all configurations and customizations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with stakeholders from operations, procurement, sales, and finance to identify opportunities for efficiency and automation.
- Train key users on new features, workflows, and reporting tools.
- Translate complex operational needs into scalable ERP solutions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in ERP project delivery or systems development within a food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Masterplan, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (BC/F&SCM), or similar platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, ERP scripting/customization tools, and reporting platforms
- Familiarity with integration tools and data exchange formats (e.g., EDI, XML, API).
- Knowledge of food traceability, inventory control, and production planning systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to regulatory and operational detail.
- Preferred Certifications:
- ERP platform-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Infor)
- PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Food safety knowledge (e.g., HACCP certification) is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
