Job Overview:

We are seeking for a compassionate and dedicated Cantonese/Mandarin Speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team in Richmond Hill, Ontario. In this role, you will provide essential care to elderly patients, ensuring their comfort, well-being, and safety. Your duties will include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Experience with stroke patients is a must, and knowledge of how to cook, clean, and manage household duties is essential. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide meal preparation and nutritional support tailored to individual dietary needs.
• Offer supervision and assistance with mobility, ensuring safety while promoting independence.
• Administer prescribed medication and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for the client.
• Encourage and support clients in maintaining their independence while assisting with daily tasks.
• Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals, including those for stroke patients, dementia, and hospice care.
• Promote safe mobility and feeding practices to ensure comfort and well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, performing light housekeeping duties as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be a Mandarin/Cantonese speaking PSW
• Proven experience working with elderly patients, particularly those recovering from a stroke.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to assist with moderate lifting and supervise mobility to maintain safety.
• Experience in cooking, cleaning, and managing household duties.
• Compassionate, friendly, and accountable, with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Some medical background is preferred, with knowledge of safe feeding and mobility practices.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain a professional, caring approach at all times.
• Experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice care settings is advantageous but not required.
