This role is responsible, in coordination with the Maintenance Team, for repairing and maintaining all mechanical processing and building equipment as they relate to the facility, cellars and crush activities, and the operation, repair, and maintenance of plant services such as hot water boilers, air compressors, refrigeration equipment and auxiliary building systems.
This teammate will be responsibile for -
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs product processing equipment including pumps, presses, filters, conveyors, product tanks and building systems.
- Utilizes good maintenance practices and a proactive approach to ensure equipment performance and longevity.
- Follows scheduled maintenance plans, work order completion activities and appropriate use of CMMS software. Actively participates in equipment reliability tracking via work order systems.
- Monitors and requests/purchases parts as required. Responsible for the ordering of materials and parts for Building Systems.
- Operates, repairs, and maintains facility equipment such as hot water boilers and refrigeration equipment.
- Operates, repairs, and maintains plant utility equipment including air compressors, hot/cold water systems, glycol systems, HVAC, compressed gases, fire suppression systems, pumps, and effluent.
- Operates wastewater treatment systems.
- Supports and maintains cellars, crush and packaging equipment as required. Participates in the planning and execution of plant projects and preventative maintenance initiatives with other members of the maintenance department.
- Provides on-call maintenance support after hours on a rotational basis.
- Actively utilizes continuous improvement tools including 5S and Root Cause Analysis to drive proactive maintenance.
- Works professionally and collaboratively with other departments and department leaders to resolve issues and to maximize facility performance.
- Supports and provides on-site technical expertise for infrastructure capital projects.
- Participates in continuous improvement and project planning. Supports capital identification for cellar, crush and infrastructure / building system equipment and the successful implementation of capital projects in these departments.
- Completes all emergency and planned work in a timely manner with a priority on equipment uptime and plant performance.
- Works with facility operators to optimize equipment performance and safety.
- Ensures a safe and healthy work environment through participation and supports the Health & Safety Program, joint H&S committee (if applicable).
- Performs work with full compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, EH&S, HACCP) and Company policies.
- Interfaces in a professional manner with contractors and corporate engineers.
- Retains complete and timely records such as plant rounds, logbooks, and ABS forms and procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

This teammate will have the following skills & experience -
- Red Seal Millwright Ticket
- Class B Refrigeration Operator ticket, or willingness to obtain if not already qualified
- Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve equipment and processes. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of a manufacturing plant including hot water boilers, pressure vessels, refrigeration, air compressors, pumps, and process control equipment. Awareness for CFC/HCFC/HFC control.
- Ability to adhere to HACCP requirements and the GMP
- Effective communications and computer skills are required.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and preference for a team-oriented approach are desirable attributes. Able to lift up to 25 Kgs
- Predominantly dayshift but some weekend work and off shift work is required in this role.
- On call rotation of one full week every 3 weeks.
