Position Title- Business Analyst- Data Governance
Location- Canada, Remote
Job Summary –
A business data analyst with a focus on data governance plays a crucial role in ensuring data quality, reliability, and accessibility within an organization. They bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, developing strategies and policies to manage data throughout its lifecycle, from acquisition to use and disposal. This involves collaborating with stakeholders, defining data standards, and monitoring data quality metrics to ensure data-driven decisions are made with reliable information.
Key Responsibilities:

Developing and Implementing Data Governance Strategies:
- Creating and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulations.

Data Quality Management:
- Monitoring data quality, identifying issues, and developing plans to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Data Profiling and Analysis:
- Examining data to understand its structure, quality, and potential issues, using tools and techniques to identify anomalies and inconsistencies.

Collaboration and Communication :
- Working with business users, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, define data standards, and ensure alignment on data governance practices.

Data Documentation:
- Creating and maintaining data dictionaries, glossaries, and other documentation to ensure data is understood and used effectively.

Data Security and Compliance:
- Ensuring data is handled securely and in compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Training and Support:
- Providing guidance and support to users on data governance policies, procedures, and tools.

Monitoring and Reporting :

: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
