Your role

As a member of Marketing and Communications' Creative & Brand Strategy team, you'll have the opportunity to work as a graphic designer on promotional and advertising projects for the public broadcaster.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Design, on your assigned projects, you'll help create core visuals for Radio-Canada content and be involved in visual creation for cross-platform promotional and advertising projects and any other visual project related to the public broadcaster's content and platforms.

Your creativity, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and knowledge of the various digital media (web and mobile) and print platforms, as well as their application in advertising and app environments, are essential assets for this position.

Experience overseeing photo shoots with public figures and editing photos are major assets for this position.

Your past experience must demonstrate a high degree of creativity and your ability to execute large-scale projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help design the visual language that guides and unifies the brand image.
  • Conceive, produce and iterate digital graphic or print standards, including all visual elements needed by the teams.
  • Support stakeholders in applying graphic standards.
  • Suggest production methods to use based on budgets and timelines.
  • Propose original solutions to design challenges in light of standards and constraints.
  • As needed, assist in pitching visual concepts using mock-ups or storyboards.
  • Seek and gather the documents, material and information required to execute the project per the approved visual concept.
  • Review and vet the work of others providing services associated with your concepts.
  • Track the product and control quality through to its final format, except when specific elements need to be inserted by the producer.
  • Keep up with the latest web, digital production, design, arts and technology trends.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic communications or multimedia design (graphic design) or a combination of education and experience relevant to the position
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in a similar position in a digital and advertising/promotional work environment

Skills:

  • Graphic design experience
  • Brand platform experience
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Illustration skills are an asset
  • Aptitude for photo editing is an asset
  • Good understanding of the steps in the graphic production process
  • Knowledge of the web and issues related to social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
  • Proficiency with the Mac environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines
  • High professional standards, independence, initiative and judgment
  • Detail and quality focus
  • Ability to listen and be a team player
  • Ability to handle stress
  • High degree of curiosity for the digital media environment and marketing trends
  • High level of sensitivity and understanding toward diverse communities
  • Media experience is an asset
