Job Description The Category Associate will provide administrative support to the Grocery Products team in Canada by combining purchasing assistance with data entry and coordination responsibilities. Reporting to the Head of Product – Grocery, this full-time position plays a key role in maintaining accurate product data, supporting vendor communication, and ensuring efficient product flow and operational processes across multiple Eataly Canada locations.
- Updates and maintains grocery catalog information, including but not limited to promotion discounts, stock status, and product information in ERP systems (e.g., D365, Adaco, Catapult, WMS)
- Assists in setting up promotions and product pricing in system
- Conducts market research and price checks of competing retailers, including trend research to support category decisions
- Collects invoices and coordinates with Finance, resolving any discrepancies with warehouse or receiving teams
- Assists with creating new product information and completing item setup requests; organizes product samples
- Supports the team with grocery stock management, including updating and placing orders, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with local vendors and Logistics
- Prepares basic sales and performance reports to support team decision-making
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, data management, or a related field; coursework in merchandising is considered an asset
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office programs
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., D365, Adaco, Catapult, WMS) is considered an asset
- Team player with strong communication and time management skills, able to create and maintain relationships across the organization
- Resourceful and able to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Passionate about Italian food and grocery products
