As Brock Solutions continues to grow and respond to the on-going requirements of major clients, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a Prompt Engineer to join our team of experienced professionals located at our head office in Kitchener, ON.

Responsibilities may include:
- AI Tool Optimization: Act as the primary expert in crafting, refining, and optimizing prompts and contextual inputs for various AI models and tools (e.g., large language models, code generation tools, data analysis AI) used across our solution design, development, and deployment phases.
- Performance Tuning: Experiment with different prompting strategies, input structures, and contextual data to achieve the highest accuracy, relevance, and efficiency from AI-powered applications.
- Workflow Integration: Collaborate with engineering, software development, and project teams to identify opportunities where AI tools can enhance our processes, from initial concept and system design to coding, testing, and deployment.
- Knowledge Transfer: Document best practices for prompting and AI tool usage, and train internal teams on effective strategies to maximize the value derived from AI technologies.
- Problem Solving: Debug and refine AI outputs by intelligently adjusting prompts and context, ensuring the AI models deliver specific, high-quality results tailored to our real-time operational needs.
- AI Landscape Monitoring: Stay current with the latest advancements in AI models, prompt engineering techniques, and AI-driven development tools, evaluating their potential application within Brock Solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement methods to evaluate the quality and reliability of AI-generated content and recommendations in a real-world, industrial context.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering, working directly with large language models (LLMs) or other generative AI.
- Strong understanding of how to structure inputs to achieve desired outputs from AI models, including knowledge of various prompting techniques (e.g., few-shot learning, chain-of-thought, persona prompting).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C#, Java) relevant to AI interaction and data manipulation.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of dissecting complex problems and identifying optimal AI-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and engineering practices.
- Experience with industrial automation, IoT, manufacturing execution systems (MES), or logistics systems is a significant asset, though not strictly required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
