Role and Facility Information
Abbotsford Regional Hospital is inviting applications for the position of two full time General Cardiologists.
ARH is located in the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley and is part of the Fraser Health Authority. Inpatient cardiology has a 24 bed CCU/telemetry ward. Echocardiography and nuclear medicine studies are provided both at ARHCC. Outpatient clinics include Heart Function, Lipid, Pacemaker and Cardiac Rehabilitation clinics.
The Royal Columbian hospital nearby is the regional cardiac surgery centre.
The cardiology program at ARH is in a period of expansion, and starting in 2024 we became a regional cardiology site for pacemaker implantation with plans to expand to ICD and CRT implants in the future.
The successful applicant will join the Cardiology Department that consists of 8 FTE cardiologists and will participate in the cardiology on-call service, ward service, and electro-diagnostic interpretation (including possibly echocardiography) as well as the supervision and teaching of medical trainees (medical students and residents). Candidates with Level III echocardiography, TEE qualification or heart failure advanced fellowship training will be considered desirable. Alternatively, candidates with fellowship electrophysiology or device training will be also be given high preference.
The applicant must have CMPA membership, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, and hold a FRCP(C) or equivalent.
