About the role

As a pivotal figure within the Marketing Department, the Senior Manager of Campaign Marketing assumes a leadership role in orchestrating end-to-end marketing campaigns. This role encompasses driving brand awareness, lead generation, recruitment, and occupancy in our diverse portfolio of residences, spanning existing Chartwell properties, new developments, acquisitions, and priority projects. Integral to this position is the management of a proficient team of relationship builders, aligned with the core business objectives.

Key Activities

Campaign Management:

  • Spearhead cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless alignment of marketing endeavors with overarching business goals, and fostering synergy with sales, operations, recruitment, and other departments.
  • Contribute to the formulation of departmental business plans and budget oversight, while nurturing existing relationships with agencies and vendors.
  • Collaborating with existing internal and external partners to fortify, pre-lease awareness, marketing advertising investments, community relations, and sales enablement tools
  • Effectively cascade national initiatives to regional and local levels, guiding the utilization of optimal tactics to drive residence success.
  • Project manage execution of national campaigns and programs internally with all stakeholders as well as external agencies, and vendors. Provide guidance and leadership to Marketing Managers local and regional investments.
  • Operationalize, implement, and report on campaign impact. Provide insights to refine our tactics and messaging based on audience engagement.

Team Leadership of two direct reports

  • Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Marketing managers, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Marketing managers, empowering them to reach their full potential and excel in their respective roles.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development, providing opportunities for skill enhancement and career growth. Foster a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie among team members, promoting collaboration, mutual support, and knowledge sharing.

Campaign Assets and Audience Targeting:

  • Oversee campaign content to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and voice, working closely with the content team and creative team to craft compelling materials.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Managers, Performance Marketing Team, and Creative Services Manager to ensure coherence in copy and visuals.
  • Tailor marketing messages and tactics to resonate with diverse audience segments.

Campaign Development and Execution:

  • Develop and maintain an annual planning calendar for campaigns across various media channels.
  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, spanning digital, print, social media, and events.
  • Ensure bilingual effectiveness by optimizing campaign and creative processes in French.

This role demands a strategic mindset, adept campaign management skills, and the ability to nurture and inspire a team of marketing professionals towards shared objectives.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years agency and/or marketing client-side experience
  • A minimum of 3 years people management experience
  • Multi-unit marketing experiences an asset e.g. franchise or retirement residence industry
  • Marketing/Communications degree or diploma
  • Demonstrated client service orientation Alignment with Corporate values of RESPECT

Experience:

  • 5+ years of marketing and 3+ years of leadership Experience in corporate and agency environments

Education:

Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized institution in the area of or a related field

Skills & Abilities:

  • Highly effective communication skills that include excellent written, oral, and presentation abilities; an exceptional command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editing requirements and strong attention to detail.

  • A desire to pursue innovation, be results-oriented, and hold oneself accountable.

  • Confident in offering strategic advice to senior leaders.

  • A strong knowledge of marketing including brand awareness and lead generation best practices In-depth understanding of media mediums including web, mobile, social media, and print platforms including best practices and trends.

  • High-level critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning skills to identify motivating factors and create persuasive strategies.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively and build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Effective and creative problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team of multidisciplinary professionals.

  • Strong familiarity with managing budgets.

  • A track record as a people leader able to engage, develop and lead a team of accountable professionals.

  • Ability to balance organizational priorities and work within internal resources and budgets.

  • The ability to organize and prioritize work to manage timelines and to meet defined deadlines.

  • Ability to lead a team including managing staff in regional offices, building trust with cross-departmental colleagues, and delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Demonstrated time management skills in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Bilingualism is preferred.

  • Travel in Canada required.
