About the role
Born in the Prairies, now part of a worldwide network, Skip is a tech company with an entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to be the best. We're a people-first, collaborative company with a fun, dynamic and innovative environment. Our vision is to empower everyday convenience. Whether it’s a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, grabbing some groceries or sunscreen, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe. Ready to make an impact within the Canadian market? As the Store Manager of an Order Fulfillment Center, you would be responsible for all facets of center operations and are accountable for the completion of accurate and efficient on-demand orders. The Manager ensures that their teams consistently meet performance expectations in terms of employee experience, health safety regulations, and fulfillment center profitability.
What’s On Your Plate
- Manage all fulfillment center activities for 4-10 employees, ensuring inventory accuracy and performance targets are consistently met.
- Act as a keyholder with on-call responsibilities, owning all aspects of fulfillment center operations.
- Direct or assist with the maintenance of fulfillment center equipment, including electrical and refrigeration systems.
- Prepare or assist with vendor orders weekly and handle the receiving and stocking of products, with a strong focus on inventory control and stock rotation.
- Hire, train, and performance manage employees.
- Create staff schedules aligned with productivity goals and peak business times.
- Train team members and support ongoing adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace for all staff and vendors.
- Perform various on-the-floor responsibilities including picking, packing, stocking, cleaning, and customer service — this is not an office-based position.
- Understand and support operational flow across all areas of a grocery environment, including knowledge of produce handling, FIFO (First In, First Out) practices, expiry management, and general grocery merchandising.
Recipe For Success
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to foster a positive, motivated team environment aligned with Skip’s values.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week, including opening, closing, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
- Comfortable using online ordering systems, tablets, and basic software tools.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel.
- Reliable and adaptable, able to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends expected).
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a lead role within a grocery, warehouse, or delivery environment.
- Prior grocery experience is strongly preferred — with working knowledge of perishables, expiry date rotation, produce freshness, and store-level merchandising.
