**Job Title: SharePoint Developer
Location: PEI Canada Remote** The scope of the services may include, but are not limited to:
- Technical expertise/consultation services - The Senior SharePoint Developer will:
- Identify areas of improvement for SharePoint design and support for both on-premise SharePoint 2019 environments and SharePoint Online, taking advantage of existing and emerging SharePoint features;
- Evaluate the impact of upcoming Microsoft updates on Government’s on-premise and SharePoint Online systems to support smooth transitions and minimize disruption;
- Provide technical and consultation support for Government’s SharePoint Developers;
- Ensure the timely fulfillment of SharePoint related support requests for both on-premise SharePoint 2019 environment and SharePoint Online;
- Contribute to the growth and adoption of SharePoint and Power Platform within Government; and
- Provide support for Government’s SharePoint, Power Platform, and applications developed in Azure that integrate with SharePoint.
Development services - The Senior SharePoint Developer will:
- Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective procedures and system requirements that meet business requirements;
- Ensure quality through enforcement of best practices and governance;
- Understand and implement quality testing procedures;
- Participate in developer scrums and project team meetings as required;
- Participate in the development and maintenance of SharePoint applications using workflows and lists, in both on-premise SharePoint 2019 environment and SharePoint Online;
- Participate in the development and maintenance of eForms;
- Participate in the implementation of an Intranet Packaged Solution for Government;
- Participate in the development and maintenance of Power Platform applications; and
- Participate in the development and maintenance of applications in Government’s Azure environment developed using Angular, C#, TypeScript, Azure Functions, and MS SQL.
Expected Deliverables
- The successful resource(s) will work on different projects and project deliverables, as directed by Government, including but not limited to, the following:
Deliverable Description
- Technical / Consultation documents
- Documents identifying areas of improvement for SharePoint design and support and workplans to achieve the improvements;
- Answers to questions raised by Government’s SharePoint developer(s);
- Documents outlining opportunities for growth and adoption of SharePoint and Power Platform within Government;
- Documents evaluating the impact of upcoming Microsoft updates on Government’s on-premise and SharePoint Online systems to support smooth transitions and minimize disruption; and
- Documents/advice to resolve support issues related to SharePoint applications and/or environments.
Project Documents
- Technical design documents for new application/eForm/Power Platform development or enhancements to existing SharePoint applications, or additions to documents;
- Task lists, or additions to task lists;
- Test plans, or additions to task lists; and
- Contributions to ‘Transition to Operations’ documentation.
General
- Status reports; and
- Participation in Project Team meetings and Developer Scrums.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in SharePoint development, including onpremise SharePoint 2019 and SharePoint Online is considered mandatory;
- Considerable knowledge of public sector implementation of SharePoint
- Extensive knowledge of Angular, C#, TypeScript, Azure Functions, and MS SQL ;
- Extensive experience with M365 components;
- Considerable experience working with databases;
- Considerable experience with existing and emerging development tools, frameworks, and languages;
- Knowledge of Microsoft existing and emerging development tools, frameworks, and best practices;
- Knowledge of Power Platform development components and best practices;
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps;
- Extensive knowledge of Government’s Sharepoint environment is an asset;
- Experience in Power Platform development components and best practices is considered to be an asset; and
- Experience working in Azure environments is considered to be an asset.
